AutoCAD [Mac/Win] [2022]

AutoCAD Crack+ [Win/Mac]

AutoCAD developed through a variety of evolutions, from Sketchpad, 2D drafting program, to the first release of AutoCAD in 1982. It is the first commercial application of a computer-aided design (CAD) in the field of architecture and engineering. Autodesk developed AutoCAD to help designers and architects create, view, and edit two-dimensional and three-dimensional drawings, schematics, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) designs.

In 1989, Autodesk created its first CD-ROM package for AutoCAD, which bundled software for all three AutoCAD applications: CAD, drafting, and BIM. In 1990, Autodesk launched AutoCAD LT, its first specialized package for creating 2D drawings for printing and desktop publishing. AutoCAD LT was followed by AutoCAD 2000 and AutoCAD 2002.

AutoCAD has been the most popular, and, by some estimates, the best-selling 2D CAD package for architects and engineers. AutoCAD is now used by nearly five million architects, engineers, and other designers in more than 150 countries. It was the first CAD program to use the standard (federal) orthographic projection. This has been the standard for the 2D (and 3D) mapping of the Earth for more than 40 years, and many other standard projections have followed, including the true perspective, a range of modified perspective projections, and a handful of unusual projections.

In 1996, Autodesk introduced AutoCAD XP, a limited trial version of AutoCAD for the PC. While not being available for purchase, AutoCAD XP added many new features including the ability to produce stereoscopic views, retractable labels, block manipulators, pop-up dialog boxes, and a new 3D navigation menu system. AutoCAD XP also introduced linked DWG files that contained all of the blocks of a drawing. In addition, a new facility was added for “auto-snap” in which line and arc objects aligned themselves automatically to fit on any page.

AutoCAD XP was discontinued in 2000.

In 1999, Autodesk introduced AutoCAD 2000, the first major redesign of AutoCAD since 1992. Among the new features were polylines and polylines with labels (a feature still missing in most other 2D CAD packages). In 2002, AutoCAD 2002 was released, which was

GeoCAD – In 2012, GeoCAD and AutoCAD products were integrated into the current AutoCAD architecture and product lineup.

The two visual programming environments (VIP) V-CAD and V-Studio, were first released in AutoCAD 2005 and was discontinued in AutoCAD 2007, it was revived in AutoCAD 2011.

Data exchange and data interoperability
In January 2015, Autodesk released a new set of APIs based on the SQLite and OPC Unified Architecture specifications for connectivity between AutoCAD and SQL databases and a new data interoperability connector (DIC), an ObjectARX component that communicates directly with AutoCAD. The company also claims a novel data interoperability solution which transfers data between applications. The ability to move data between applications is done through cross-application or cross-thread calls using pipes (AutoCAD Architecture and Civil 3D).

In 2016, Autodesk introduced a new Dynamic Link Library (DLL) architecture which allows AutoCAD to communicate with external applications through their interfaces. A Dynamic Link Library or DLL acts as a bridge between the AutoCAD and the application, allowing AutoCAD to send and receive commands and information to/from external applications. Some DLLs include the functions that help to “reconcile data” (the ability to get and set data from multiple CAD applications) and integration with Autodesk PLM (product lifecycle management) software. The DLLs do not require recompiling of AutoCAD.

As of 2018, the DLL architecture is being supported by all AutoCAD 2017 and newer products.

License and deployment
In addition to the Autodesk subscription, which gives users access to Autodesk products such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Inventor, users can also purchase a single-user license or a “Technical Professional” license. The AutoCAD Professional for Windows (x64) is currently priced at $7,995, compared to $4,600 for a single-user license, and $5,240 for a Technical Professional license. The AutoCAD Ultimate subscription includes the Technical Professional license and access to Autodesk Exchange Apps. The Autodesk Exchange Apps include tools for AutoCAD Architects, AutoCAD Electrical Engineers, and AutoCAD Civil 3D.

An annual subscription to AutoCAD is required for companies to make use of the software’s functionality.
